Wright lost against the Archbishop Rummel Raiders back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Wright ended up on the wrong side of a tough 62-41 walloping at the hands of Archbishop Rummel. Wright was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-16.
Leading Archbishop Rummel to victory were Jamard Jones and Tj Duhe. Jones scored 14 points along with eight rebounds, while Duhe scored 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Duhe has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. Another player making a difference was Denim Smith, who scored nine points.
Wright's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Archbishop Rummel, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
Wright will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Archbishop Rummel at 8:30 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Archbishop Rummel's road trip will continue as they head out to face St. Mary's Ryken at 4:00 p.m. on December 27th.
