Baseball Game Preview: Southeast Career Tech Roadrunners vs. Clark Chargers

The Southeast Career Tech Roadrunners will square off against the Clark Chargers at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Southeast Career Tech will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Last Friday, Southeast Career Tech got the win against Sports Leadership & Management by a conclusive 16-1. The Roadrunners might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by eight runs or more this season.

Harmon Nelson looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Southeast Career Tech got a massive performance out of Nathan Johnson, who scored three runs while going 2-for-2. Ethan Springfield was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

Southeast Career Tech always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .688. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meanwhile, Clark fell victim to Sierra Vista and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Mountain Lions, falling 14-0. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 10, 2018, but that streak is no more.

Southeast Career Tech's win bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Clark, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.

Monday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Southeast Career Tech has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .464. However, it's not like Clark struggles in that department as they've averaged .456. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
