Logan County is 7-1 against Ohio County since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Cougars will welcome the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Logan County will be strutting in after a victory while Ohio County will be coming in after a defeat.

Logan County had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Russellville on Wednesday. The Cougars put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 10-3 win. The contest marked the Cougars' most dominant victory of the season.

Addison Cartas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Logan County let Maddie Burgess and Haley Henson run wild. Burgess went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI, while Henson went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI Henson has posted since back in April. Kalie Taylor was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Ohio County fell victim to Edmonson County and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 2-0. The Eagles just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Ohio County's defeat dropped their record down to 14-13-1. As for Logan County, their win bumped their record up to 8-12.

Ohio County's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Logan County has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Ohio County, though, as they've been averaging only 3.3 strikeouts. Will Logan County keep running through batters, or will the Eagles buck the trend?

Logan County beat Ohio County 8-3 when the teams last played back in March. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
