The Pinkston Vikings were the 67-63 winner over the Roosevelt Mustangs when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Pinkston fell just short of Roosevelt by a score of 52-49.
Pinkston's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Stacy Johnson, who scored 15 points, and Rashad Simpson who scored 13 points.
Pinkston's defeat dropped their record down to 17-16. As for Roosevelt, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-15.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pinkston will challenge Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lincoln is coming into the match with three straight wins at home, so Pinkston is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. Roosevelt will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Wilmer-Hutchins at 7:30 p.m. on February 13th. Roosevelt is facing Wilmer-Hutchins at the right time seeing as Wilmer-Hutchins is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
