The Midlothian Panthers suffered their closest loss since December 1, 2023 on Wednesday. They fell just short of Mansfield Timberview by a score of 42-39. It was the first time this season that Midlothian let down their fans at home.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alex Gilmore, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Bryce Tennison, who scored 13 points.
Among those leading the charge was Christian Jones, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lewis Sotelo, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Midlothian's loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 16-10. As for Mansfield Timberview, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-6.
Midlothian will head out on the road to face off against Seguin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mansfield Timberview, they will be playing at home against Burleson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Burleson will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 671st, while Mansfield Timberview is ranked 73rd).
