Franklin has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Eastlake Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Franklin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Wednesday.
Franklin struggled with offensive rebounds on Wednesday (Montwood had 700% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Franklin fell 61-52 to Montwood.
Despite the loss, Franklin had strong showings from Emma Balsiger, who scored 23 points, and Caitlynn Clark, who scored 19 points along with 4 steals. Clark scored a full 36.5% of Franklin's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maryfer Carrera, who scored 2 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals.
Meanwhile, Eastlake beat Socorro 43-31 on Wednesday.
Frenship's win bumped their season record to 0-0 while Franklin's defeat dropped theirs to 13-3.
Everything came up roses for Franklin against Eastlake when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 99-30 victory. Does Franklin have another victory up their sleeve, or will Eastlake turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
