Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Freeburg). They pulled ahead with a 59-58 photo finish over the Jersey Panthers on Saturday. The Midgets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

Jersey's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Meredith Gray, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine boards. Gray's afternoon made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Neely Goetten, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards.

With the win, Freeburg broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-7. As for Jersey, they dropped their record down to 10-6 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Freeburg will venture away from home to square off against Columbia at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Jersey, they will face off against Carrollton at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Jersey is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.8 points per game this season.
