Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in prep girls basketball. America's source for high school sports continues the tradition to close out the 2023-24 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence in addition to local and state accolades.
For the season, Lampley averaged a team-high 18.0 points, 5.9 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game. In a win over La Lumiere (La Porte) in November, she went for a season-high 39 points to go along with 14 rebounds. After putting up 20 points or more 12 times this winter, she will enter her senior year with 1,276 career points.

In a 55-28 win over Lake Central (St. John) in the state championship game, Lampley tallied a game-high 19 points along with nine rebounds and helped her team bounce back from an early deficit. Early in the second quarter, Lampley hit a 3-pointer to give the Bears a 12-11 lead and they never looked back.
Each state's MaxPreps Player of the Year will be considered for inclusion in the MaxPreps All-America Team, which is scheduled to be released April 11. Past selections include 2023 WNBA Most Valuable Player Breanna Stewart (2012) as well as 2023 All-WNBA first team picks Napheesa Collier (2015), Alyssa Thomas (2010) and A'ja Wilson (2014).
