The Elyria Catholic Panthers will venture away from home to take on the Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy Royals at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Elyria Catholic has 16 straight victories, Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Elyria Catholic is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 20-0 margin over Lake Catholic on Monday. Considering the Panthers have won ten matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Harper Morgan made a splash no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Elyria Catholic let Allison Bailey and Jessica Conner run wild. Bailey went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Conner went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Those two runs gave Bailey a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kailey Tomasch, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Elyria Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin on Monday and fell 2-1.
Elyria Catholic's win was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-0. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
Everything went Elyria Catholic's way against Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy when the teams last played on Wednesday, as Elyria Catholic made off with a 10-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
