Sierra Ridge/Rite of Passage (San Andreas, Calif.) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 32-12 win over
Millennium (Tracy, Calif.).
The Rams put up eight points in the opening frame. Sierra Ridge/Rite of Passage scored on a touchdown run.
SRRP was up 8-0 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run in the first quarter.
The San Andreas school expanded its lead to 16 points entering the fourth quarter. The Rams scored two times in the third, including once on a rushing touchdown.
Isaiah Horton was the top performer for Sierra Ridge/Rite of Passage. He ran for one touchdown.
Manjot Atwal played well for the Falcons. The junior ran for one touchdown.
SRRP had struggled this season, allowing 36.5 points per game. However, the Rams' defense dug in and limited Millennium right around its season average of 12.4 points per game.
Sierra Ridge/Rite of Passage got revenge for last year's 32-26 loss to MHS with the victory.
Millennium has now lost four games in a row, including a 49-8 loss versus Elliot Christian last week. The victory was a step in the right direction for SRRP, which was coming off a 36-32 defeat at the hands of Stone Ridge Christian in its previous game.
Sierra Ridge/Rite of Passage (2-7) goes up against Elliot Christian in a Central California AA game matchup next week, while Millennium (1-8) locks horns with Brookside Christian also in a Central California AA game.
