The Williams Yellowjackets fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They managed a 55-49 victory over Hamilton on Tuesday. That's another feather in the cap for Williams, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Williams found their leader in underclassman Diego Ambriz, who scored 31 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ambriz has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kyden Bowen, who scored 13 points.
Despite the loss, Hamilton saw an underclassman step up: Kayden Strong dropped a double-double on 20 points and 16 rebounds. Strong hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. Caden Stickney was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five assists and two steals.
Williams' victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-12. As for Hamilton, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Williams will take on CORE Butte at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hamilton, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Los Molinos at 8:00 p.m. Hopefully Los Molinos focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Tuesday.
