Liberty North is 3-0 against Rockhurst since November of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Liberty North Eagles will face off against the Rockhurst Hawklets at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Liberty North sitting on 11 straight wins and Rockhurst on eight.
Liberty North extended their postseason success on Friday against Oak Park. They claimed a resounding 38-7 win over the Northmen on the road. Liberty North might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won ten matchups by 23 points or more this season.
Meanwhile, Rockhurst faced Nixa in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Rockhurst put the hurt on Nixa with a sharp 38-14 win on Friday. Rockhurst's win was all the more impressive since Nixa was averaging only 16.92 points allowed on the season.
Rockhurst can attribute much of their success to Aidan Ryan, who rushed for 119 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 45 receiving yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Hansen, who threw for 204 yards and two touchdowns.
Their wins bumped Liberty North to 11-1 and Oak Park to 11-1.
Everything came up roses for Liberty North against Rockhurst in their previous matchup back in September as the team secured a 35-7 win. Will Liberty North repeat their success, or does Rockhurst have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
