Warner Robins (Ga.) had its advantage, which at one point stood at 18 points, drop to 10 before the final whistle blew on a 28-18 victory over
Northside (Warner Robins, Ga.).
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Caden Johnston in the second quarter, the Demons led 7-3 at the half.
Warner Robins grew its lead to five points entering the fourth quarter. WR scored once in the quarter on a defensive touchdown.
The loss came as a surprise for the Eagles, who entered the game ranked No. 5 in the MaxPreps Freeman Rankings for Georgia, while the Demons were ranked No. 43. Northside came into the game having won five of the past seven games between the two teams.
Warner Robins got revenge for last year's 35-28 loss to NHS with the victory.
The loss comes after Northside defeated Greenbrier 41-7 last week.
Warner Robins (8-1) goes up against Lakeside in a AAAAA Region 2 game matchup next week, while Northside (8-1) locks horns with Evans also in a AAAAA Region 2 game.
