Pine has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Trinity Christian Academy Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Pine was handed a three-point loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against the Cobras on Thursday. Pine blew past the Cobras 55-18 at home. With Pine ahead 34-11 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
In what's become a running theme this season, Trinity Christian Academy gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They really took it to Glades Day for the full four quarters, racking up a 80-35 victory at home. Given Trinity Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 389th, while the Gators are ranked 782nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Trinity Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Carter Kuzmin out in front who scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kuzmin has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Paul Morency, who scored 14 points.
Pine has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. As for Trinity Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 13-10 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home.
Pine was dealt a bruising 89-37 defeat at the hands of the Warriors in their previous matchup back in February of 2020. Can Pine avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
