Central has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Highland Park Scots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Central knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully Highland Park likes a good challenge.
Even though Rock Bridge scored an imposing 57 points on Tuesday, Central still came out on top. Central pulled ahead with a 58-57 photo finish over Rock Bridge.
Central got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brandon Moore out in front who scored 15 points along with four steals. Moore hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. Tim Wooden was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Highland Park stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They breezed by Schlagle at home to the tune of 77-33. Winning may never get old, but Highland Park sure is getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Central's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.0 points per game. As for Highland Park, their victory bumped their record up to 13-1.
Central lost to Highland Park on the road by a decisive 87-73 margin when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
