The John Paul II Golden Warrriors will head out on the road to face off against the Wilson Hall Barons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. John Paul II will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 206th, while Wilson Hall is ranked 91st).
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 51-3, which was the final score in John Paul II's tilt against Hilton Head Christian Academy last Thursday. John Paul II has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Wilson Hall didn't have too much trouble with Heathwood Hall Episcopal on the road on Friday as they won 47-28.
Dylan Jones got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 243 yards and six touchdowns on only 15 carries. Jones really tore up the turf during one magnificent 78-yard run. Miles Van patten also helped out as he racked up 108 rushing yards.
Hilton Head Christian Academy's win bumped their season record to 7-2 while John Paul II's defeat dropped theirs to 2-8.
John Paul II took a serious blow against Wilson Hall in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, falling 35-8. Can John Paul II avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
