If James F. Byrnes wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Gaffney, they should've done a better job of containing Mayson Brizendine. The Indians put the hurt on the Rebels with a sharp 3-0 win on Tuesday with plenty of help from Brizendine, who had 15 digs and four assists. She has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last five times she's played.

While Gaffney might've won, it sure wasn't easy: James F. Byrnes scored at least 21 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-23, 25-22.

James F. Byrnes' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Carly Peacock, who had five digs and three aces, and Anna McCravy, who had ten digs. Jayanna Spurgeon also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.

Gaffney's victory bumped their record up to 12-10-2. As for James F. Byrnes, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-16 record this season.

Gaffney didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Riverside on the 9th. As for James F. Byrnes, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Eastside on the 9th.
