After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Redeemer Christian, the First Academy Eagles were happy to have found some success on Friday. They claimed a resounding 57-6 win over Crooms Academy at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-1.
Leading First Academy to victory were Ashlyn Neiford and Kyra Spivey. Neiford scored 8 points along with 11 steals, while Spivey scored 16 points along with 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Schwartz, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 13 rebounds.
First Academy now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Crooms Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
First Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against St. John Lutheran at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully St. John Lutheran focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday. As for Crooms Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Warner Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
