Vision will venture away from home to challenge the Parma Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Vision has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with five straight defeats, while Parma will come in with four straight wins.
Vision is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came up short against Nampa Christian on Wednesday, falling 31-14.
Vision got a massive performance out of Lydia Vollmer, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That run was Vollmer's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddison Dibben, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Parma got the win against Melba on Wednesday by a conclusive 15-4. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by nine runs or more this season.
Maya Jensen was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Lakota Leppert was a standout: she scored two runs while going 2-for-4. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in March. Abby Anderson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
Parma kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 11.4.
Parma pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Vision, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Vision has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Parma struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Vision suffered a grim 28-0 defeat to Parma in their previous meeting back in March of 2021. Can Vision avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
