The Tipton Cardinals waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They took down Lincoln 60-45. Given Tipton's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 188th, while Lincoln is ranked 377th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tipton had a senior duo take command as Zach Moon scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and Jackson Bailey scored 19 points. Another player making a difference was Dane Schlotzhauer, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Tipton has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Lincoln, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.
Tipton won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Weaubleau at 7:30 p.m. on January 20th. Weaubleau will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak alive. Lincoln will take on Warsaw at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Warsaw has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 30.
