The Rock Canyon Jaguars had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They snuck past Arvada West with a 20-14 win.
Rock Canyon got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Gavin Neira out in front who threw for 137 yards and two touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes. Tyler Meyer and his 121 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Rock Canyon's win.
Arvada West's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Adrian Symalla, who rushed for 176 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Jaiden Green, who rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
Even if they lost, Arvada West's defense still kept up the pressure with six sacks. Rock Canyon's QB won't forget Cameron Meyer anytime soon given Meyer sacked him six times.
Rock Canyon's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Arvada West, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-6.
Rock Canyon is on the road again on November 10th and play against Ralston Valley at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Ralston Valley is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. Arvada West does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
