The Bronaugh Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Jasper by a score of 66-63. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
When it comes to explaining why Bronaugh lost, one person who can't be blamed is Strauss Banes. Despite the final result, he went 6 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points and 2 assists. Banes is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Colter Banes, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds.
Bronaugh's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Jasper, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bronaugh will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Sheldon at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Jasper will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Archie at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th.
