The Delran Bears were the 46-43 winner over Trenton Catholic Academy when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Delran was outmatched by Trenton Catholic Academy on the road and fell 86-14. Delran was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-8.
Trenton Catholic Academy's win on Tuesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cianni Thompson, who scored 30 points. Thompson set a new season high mark in steals with two. The team also got some help courtesy of Mayah Alford, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Delran bumped their record down to 2-5 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 15.8 points per game. As for Trenton Catholic Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Delran will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Pennsauken at 5:15 p.m. on January 4th. As for Trenton Catholic Academy, they will face off against Medford Tech at 12:00 p.m. on Monday.
