The Pulaski County Maroons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 66-58 to Southwestern. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Leading Southwestern to victory were Kinsley Molden and Payton Acey. Molden went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 21 points and 1 assist, while Acey scored 26 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Acey has scored all season. Kylie Dalton was another key contributor, scoring five points along with eight rebounds.
Pulaski County's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-5. As for Southwestern, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-5.
Pulaski County will be playing in front of their home fans against Rockcastle County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kentucky (Rockcastle County is ranked 24th, while Pulaski County is ranked 21st). Southwestern's road trip will continue as they head out to face Sevier County at 12:15 p.m. on January 13th. Sevier County will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.
