The Palmyra Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Auburn 69-33. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Palmyra in their matchups with Auburn: they've now lost six in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Palmyra lost, one person who can't be blamed is Drew Erhart. Despite the final result, he scored 20 points. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Gou Kamishita, who scored five points.
Palmyra's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-9. As for Auburn, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Palmyra will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Conestoga at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. As for Auburn, they will head out on the road to face off against Fairbury at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.
