 North Mecklenburg wouldn't go down easily and took Independence into a fifth set  where they got it done with a eight-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-21, 20-25, 25-18,  15-7.
 West Charlotte's record now sits at 7-9. As for North Mecklenburg, their record is now 16-5.
