Quartz Hill is a perfect 10-0 against Palmdale since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Quartz Hill Royals will head out on the road to challenge the Palmdale Falcons at 3:15 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Quartz Hill has six straight victories, Palmdale has 15 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Quartz Hill is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victor by a 23-9 margin over Knight on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Royals, who have now won five matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Dakota Ponder made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 4-for-5. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits.
In other batting news, Quartz Hill let Brooklyn Terpstra and Katrina Ramirez run wild. Terpstra went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI, while Ramirez fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-3. Those four hits gave Terpstra a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nina Sepulveda, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Quartz Hill was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .474. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Palmdale lost 31-20 to Antelope Valley on Tuesday. Even if the Falcons couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.
Quartz Hill pushed their record up to 7-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Palmdale, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.
Everything went Quartz Hill's way against Palmdale in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as Quartz Hill made off with a 14-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Quartz Hill since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
