The Ridge Community Bolts will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the McKeel Academy Wildcats at 8:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Ridge Community suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Friday. They fell just short of Davenport by a score of 60-58. Ridge Community has not had much luck with Davenport recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Ridge Community had strong showings from Tarique Kennedy, who scored 20 points, and Eddy Hyppolite jr., who scored 12 points along with six steals and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kennedy has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Siled Morris, who scored nine points.
McKeel Academy has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 73-56 bruising from Excel Christian Academy on Friday.
Ridge Community's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-9. As for McKeel Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-6.
Ridge Community strolled past McKeel Academy in their previous matchup back in November of 2016 by a score of 52-36. Does Ridge Community have another victory up their sleeve, or will McKeel Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
