On Saturday, Pine Creek sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over Rampart.
Jake Holm was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristan Mullis, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Meanwhile, Doherty earned a 4-1 win over Smoky Hill on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.
Khalil Parker was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits (and only one walk). Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Crew Miller, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Xavier Gutierrez, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.

Tuesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Pine Creek has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .458. However, it's not like Doherty struggles in that department as they've averaged .465. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Pine Creek came out on top in a nail-biter against Doherty when the teams last played back in May of 2025, sneaking past 4-3. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
