Salpointe Catholic fell just short of Liberty by a score of 36-34. Salpointe Catholic's loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Salpointe Catholic's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Watts, who scored 9 points. Watts scored a full 26.5% of Salpointe Catholic's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Aryanna Kollasch, who scored 5 points along with 6 rebounds.
Salpointe Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Liberty, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Salpointe Catholic will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Flowing Wells at 7:00 p.m. Liberty will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Desert Vista at 1:30 p.m. on December 9th. Desert Vista has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
