Brook Hill is 1-9 against Dallas Christian since September of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Brook Hill Guard will look to defend their home field against the Dallas Christian Chargers at 7:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Brook Hill had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They claimed a resounding 36-0 victory over Covenant on the road. Brook Hill pushed the score to 33-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Covenant had no chance of recovering from.
Meanwhile, Dallas Christian had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.8 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They breezed by Dallas HSAA on the road to the tune of 59-0. Given Dallas Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 158th, while Dallas HSAA is ranked 1041st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Dallas Christian's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Luke Carney, who threw for 338 yards and five touchdowns while completing 90.9% of his passes, and William Nettles, who picked up 240 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Nettles' longest reception was for an incredible 73 yards. Another player making a difference was Jaxson Barr, who rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown.
Their wins bumped Brook Hill to 5-2 and Dallas Christian to 7-1.
Brook Hill was taken down by Dallas Christian 61-7 in their previous meeting back in November of 2022. Will Brook Hill have more luck at home instead of on the road?
