The Seaforth Hawks will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Northwood Chargers at 9:00 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Seaforth has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while the Chargers will arrive with four straight victories.
Seaforth pushed their score all the way to 67 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 80-67 to Chatham Central, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Seaforth has not had much luck with the Bears recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Nate Emerson, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Noah Lewis, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Northwood can now show off 13 landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Bartlett Yancey 84-23 on the road. Northwood's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Northwood's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Beau Harvey led the charge by scoring 17 points along with eight assists and six rebounds. It was the first time this season that Harvey posted eight or more assists. Drake Powell was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Seaforth's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Northwood, they pushed their record up to 16-3 with that victory, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Seaforth was taken down by the Chargers 75-30 in their previous matchup back in January. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Seaforth was down 48-16.
