Suburban One - Continental recap Sept. 26, 2012
Souderton was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to second in Suburban One - Continental. Earlier in the week, the Indians triumphed over Central Bucks West 28-17.
Central Bucks South extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Hatboro-Horsham, 49-21. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Jon Pileggi and Josh Adams gave Central Bucks South a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Pileggi threw for 138 yards and two touchdowns, while Adams ran for 328 yards. Bobby Mallon also contributed to the rushing game with 21 yards on the ground.
Kyle Wenger was the best wideout in the league this week as Souderton topped the Bucks. Wenger racked up four receptions for 88 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Pileggi and Adams Dave Rackovan's team has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Pileggi leads the league in passing with 557 yards, while Adams has rushed for 924 yards this season. Central Bucks East's Vince Careghini leads the league in receiving yards with 224 on 13 catches.
The top two teams in Suburban One - Continental will face off this week when first place Central Bucks South takes on second place Souderton. The Titans defeated the Hatters last week, while Ed Gallagher's team bested Central Bucks West.
Central Bucks South's Adams needs only 76 yards against the Indians next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
Souderton moved up to 60 from 87 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Indians climbed the ranks as a result of a 28-17 win over Brian Hensel's team.
