Javin Eslinger spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Cheyenne Mountain saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nate Glad, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Noah Reickert was another, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one double.
Liberty hit Vista Ridge with a four-run sixth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wolves fell just short of the Lancers by a score of 6-5.
Teagan Reisdorfer was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
Vista Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Cheyenne Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-5-1.
Vista Ridge's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Cheyenne Mountain has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .464. It's a different story for Vista Ridge, though, as they've only averaged .360. Will they be able to contain Cheyenne Mountain's hitters?
Cheyenne Mountain took their win against Vista Ridge in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 17-4 score. Will the Red-Tailed Hawks repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
