Pleasant Hill is 1-9 against Carrollton since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Wolves will venture away from home to face off against the Hawks at 4:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Pleasant Hill comes in on three and Carrollton on ten.
Pleasant Hill proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 11) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Seymour 4-2.

Ava Wombles made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
Wombles wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ally Neitzel, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Abi Henderson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Carrollton). They were the clear victors by a 16-5 margin over Civic Memorial on Tuesday. Considering the Hawks have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Pleasant Hill, Carrollton also got a great game from a two-way player: Hannah Uhles. She struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off 12 hits (and not a single walk). Uhles has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-5.
In other batting news, Vanna Holmes was incredible, firing off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while going 4-for-5. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times she's played. Lauren Flowers was another key player, scoring five runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-4.
Carrollton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .474. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .345 or higher in nine consecutive games.
Carrollton pushed their record up to 10-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for Pleasant Hill, their record is now 4-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Pleasant Hill has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Carrollton struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Pleasant Hill couldn't quite get it done against Carrollton in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 9-4. Can the Wolves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
