Centauri hasn't had much luck against Bayfield recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Falcons will square off against the Wolverines at 11:00 a.m. Centauri is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season.
Last Wednesday, Centauri made easy work of Sanford and carried off a 17-2 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Falcons.

Drake Gallardo made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Centauri's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-6 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Centauri let Parker Buhr and Warren Shelton run wild. Buhr scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while Shelton scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave Shelton a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ryder Norton, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
Centauri was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .480. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .379 or higher in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 13 runs the game before, Bayfield was a bit more limited in their contest last Saturday. They came up short against Durango, falling 9-2. The loss continues a trend for the Wolverines in their meetings with the Demons: they've now lost three in a row.
Tavian Box made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
Centauri's record now sits at 4-6. As for Bayfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
Bayfield's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Centauri hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .356. It's a different story for Bayfield, though, as they've only averaged .231. Will they be able to contain Centauri's hitters?
Centauri suffered a grim 22-4 defeat to Bayfield when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
