Having just played yesterday, the Cairo Pilots will jump right back in to play the Crab Orchard Trojans at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Cairo suffered their biggest defeat since November 21, 2023 on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Frankfort, falling 76-33. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Cairo has scored all season.
Despite their loss, Cairo saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. McKenlee Pirtle, who scored eight points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeserick Pilgram, who scored seven points.
Meanwhile, even though Carrier Mills-Stonefort scored an imposing 62 points last Tuesday, Crab Orchard still came out on top. Crab Orchard strolled past Carrier Mills-Stonefort with points to spare, taking the game 77-62.
This is the second loss in a row for Cairo and nudges their season record down to 5-11. As for Crab Orchard, their win bumped their record up to 10-4.
Cairo suffered a grim 87-65 defeat to Crab Orchard when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Cairo avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
