Given Fruita Monument's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while Palisade is ranked 92nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Fruita Monument was led to victory by Addison Eyre and Olivia Campbell. Eyre scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, while Campbell scored 30 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Campbell has scored all season.
The win makes it two in a row for Fruita Monument and bumps their season record up to 10-2. As for Palisade, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.
Fruita Monument will look to defend their home court on Friday against Grand Junction at 5:30 p.m. As for Palisade, they will head out on the road to face off against Glenwood Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Glenwood Springs: they have been struggling with six straight losses at home, while Palisade has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
