On Friday, Lubbock didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Chapin, but they still walked away with a 32-27 victory.
Despite the loss, Chapin still got an impressive performance from Ja'Zaya Valadez-Hernandez, who scored 13 points. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for her. Samantha Wise was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Lubbock's win bumped their record up to 5-12. As for Chapin, they have fallen quite a ways from their 28-7 record last season and are now at 7-12.
Lubbock will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Tournament Opponent on Saturday. Tournament Opponent has now lost 15 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 28. Chapin is on the road again on Saturday and play against Borger at 9:00 a.m. on December 30th.
