Shaker and the Silver Warriors are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2016, but not for long. The Shaker Bison will head out on the road to take on the Niskayuna Silver Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Christian Brothers Academy scored an imposing 61 points on Tuesday, Shaker still came out on top. Shaker managed a 65-61 win over the Brothers. 65 seems to be a good number for Shaker as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Meanwhile, even though Troy scored an imposing 56 points on Tuesday, Niskayuna still came out on top. Niskayuna strolled past the Flying Horses with points to spare, taking the game 72-56. Given Niskayuna's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Flying Horses are ranked 481st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
The win makes it two in a row for Shaker and bumps their season record up to 13-3. As for Niskayuna, their win bumped their record up to an identical 13-3.
Shaker was able to grind out a solid win over the Silver Warriors when the teams last played back in December of 2022, winning 64-57. The rematch might be a little tougher for Shaker since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
