The Cardington-Lincoln Pirates scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They snuck past Fredericktown with a 62-57 victory. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Abigail Hardwick continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 26 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. Those 26 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Magi Hallabrin, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Cally Carpenter and Mya Bryant certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Carpenter scored 23 points along with four steals, while Bryant scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Carpenter scored a full 40.4% of Fredericktown's points, the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Kit Bellman was another key contributor, scoring five points along with six rebounds.
Cardington-Lincoln is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Fredericktown, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cardington-Lincoln will challenge Danville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fredericktown, they will head out on the road to face off against East Knox at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
