Polson is 0-4 against Beaverhead County since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Polson Pirates will head out on the road to face off against the Beaverhead County Beavers at 4:00 p.m. Hopefully Polson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Polson didn't have too much trouble with Stevensville at home as they won 47-32. That 47-32 margin sets a new team best for Polson this season.
Polson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aleysia Black led the charge by scoring 14 points. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Rensvold, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Beaverhead County scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They took down Butte 71-54.
The victory makes it two in a row for Polson and bumps their season record up to 3-2. As for Beaverhead County, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Polson was dealt a bruising 63-30 defeat at the hands of Beaverhead County in their previous matchup back in January of 2021. Can Polson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
