Colbert County is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Thursday. They are taking a road trip to square off against the Clements Colts at 4:30 p.m. Colbert County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.
If Colbert County beats Clements with seven runs on Thursday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Indians came out on top against Russellville by a score of 7-3 on Monday. The victory was nothing new for the Indians as they're now sitting on three straight.

Makayli Davis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Kylee Holland was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. Megan Wisdom was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Rogers hit Clements with a ten-run second inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Colts lost 19-2 to the Pirates. The Colts have struggled against the Pirates recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Clements saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zailey Moran, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
Colbert County's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Clements, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
Clements' hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Colbert County has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.2 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Clements, though, as they've been averaging only 4 strikeouts. Will Colbert County keep running through batters, or will the Colts buck the trend?
Everything went Colbert County's way against Clements when the teams last played back in April of 2025, as Colbert County made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
