Yuma hasn't had much luck against Cibola recently, but that could start to change on Monday. Yuma will be playing in front of their home fans against Cibola at 6:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
If Yuma beats Cibola with five runs on Monday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. Yuma skirted past Skyline 5-4. The victory was familiar territory for the Criminals, who have now won three games in a row.
Josef Pastrana looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kane Huerta-Urbalejo, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alonzo Fierro, who scored two runs while going 3-for-5.
Meanwhile, Cibola narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Browne 3-2. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Bruins recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Isaac Lopez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Aidan Robles was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. He has become a key player for Cibola: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 2-4 otherwise. Jason Garcia also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Yuma's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Cibola, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Cibola's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Yuma has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Cibola, though, as they've been averaging only 4.1 strikeouts. Will Yuma keep running through batters, or will Cibola buck the trend?
