The West Clermont Wolves waltzed into Saturday's game with two straight wins but they left with three. They claimed a resounding 61-28 win over Talawanda at home. With that victory, West Clermont brought their scoring average up to 51 points per game.
West Clermont was led to victory by Taylor Schmidt and Layla Hale. Schmidt scored 12 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 assists, while Hale scored 20 points along with 7 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Hale has scored at least 25% of West Clermont's points. Another player making a difference was Maddi Fender, who scored 10 points.
West Clermont's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Talawanda, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Clermont will take on Lebanon at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Talawanda, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mt. Healthy at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
