Splendora has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Liberty Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Splendora focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
Last Friday, Splendora didn't have too much breathing room in their game against the Gators, but they still walked away with a 47-41 win. The win was just what Splendora needed coming off of a 61-37 defeat in their prior match.
Splendora's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Peyton Whaley, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and four steals, and Jaydn McNeely, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Justin Kelley was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Liberty came into Tuesday's game having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They snuck past West Fork with a 54-50 victory on Tuesday. The win was just what Liberty needed coming off of a 69-44 loss in their prior contest.
Splendora's record is now 16-13. As for Liberty, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-21.
Splendora was able to grind out a solid victory over the Panthers when the teams last played back in January, winning 58-46. The rematch might be a little tougher for Splendora since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
