6A District 3 recap November 13, 2013
Midwest City added to the longest winning streak in 6A District 3 this week by beating Moore, 36-0. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Bombers.
Grant made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 13,213 from 13,450. The improvement was the result of a 37-6 victory over the Generals last week.
Norman North's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. John Kolar threw for 223 and 3 touchdowns and Nick Basquine had 142 yards receiving. On the ground Z'quan Hogan contributed 134 yards. Payton Prince helped Norman North's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 60 yards.
Hogan was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 18 carries, he ran for 134 yards as the Timberwolves beat Eisenhower. Kolar also contributed to the rushing game with 84 yards on the ground.
Norman North's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Timberwolves feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. David Cornwell has thrown for 1,445 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, while Basquine has 53 catches for 1,014 yards.
Hogan of the Norman North is only 74 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Hogan has rushed for 926 yards on 124 carries so far this year.
