The Jumpertown Cardinals's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They were dealt a 62-31 loss at the hands of New Site. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Jumpertown in their matchups with New Site: they've now lost nine in a row.
Leading New Site to victory were Brooklyn Hodum and Chloe Chism. Hodum scored 15 points along with four steals, while Chism dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. The game was Chism's 12th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ayla Stanley, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
Jumpertown's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-11. As for New Site, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.
Jumpertown will be home for the holidays to greet Byers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Byers is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. New Site will take on Gulfport in a holiday battle at 12:30 p.m. on Monday at. Gulfport will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 176th, while New Site is ranked 37th).
