The Newton Local Indians were the 50-37 winner over the Twin Valley South Panthers when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Newton Local was outmatched by Twin Valley South on the road and fell 60-33. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Newton Local has scored all season.
Twin Valley South got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Trent Ray out in front who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Jace Thuma, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
Newton Local now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Twin Valley South, their win bumped their record up to 1-3.
Newton Local won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Houston at 7:30 p.m. on December 16th. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Houston and three for Newton Local. As for Twin Valley South, they will head out on the road to face off against Tri-County North at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tri-County North is on a three-game streak of home losses, Twin Valley South an eight-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change.
