It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Odessa Tigers ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They snuck past Wilbur-Creston-Keller with a 62-56 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Odessa's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacob Scrupps, who scored 23 points along with 9 rebounds. The match was Scrupps' third in a row with at least ten points. Dakota Steward was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 16 rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for Odessa and bumps their season record up to 3-1. As for Wilbur-Creston-Keller, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Odessa will be home for the holidays to greet Mary Walker at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Wilbur-Creston-Keller, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse at 5:00 p.m. on December 16th.
